NAMAC was born in 2012 with a mandate to work on the dual objectives of bringing social and economic empowerment to the salt producing community. NAMAC works as a collective marketing organizational it has developed an alternative marketing system that ensures better incomes for the salt producing community. In effect, NAMAC sources orders for raw salt and procures salt produce at better prices from the small primary producers. NAMAC has also, since its inception, continually worked to
facilitate access to institutionalized credit and help employ technology to reduce production costs.
NAMAC is fully owned by small salt producers. NAMAC is governed by a body
of a body of select small salt producers. Currently NAMAC works with 110
small salt producing units in Maliya and Adesar regions.
